Matting

Not every piece needs a mat. Whether one makes sense depends on the artwork and the look you're trying to create.
Color & Finish
You don't necessarily need to pull an exact color from the artwork into the frame. Sometimes a quieter finish lets the art take the lead. Other pieces can support a stronger frame choice.

Can you frame prints and posters?

Does artwork always need a mat?
No. Matting is an option, not a requirement for every piece. Whether a mat makes sense depends on the artwork, the frame and the look you're trying to create.
What if protecting the artwork is my biggest concern?
